The Canadian Dental Care Plan is federal coverage for Canadian residents with a family income under $90,000 and no access to private dental insurance. It can cover a large share of a routine visit. Applying is free, and once you’re enrolled your visit through us is reward eligible too.

The practice
A flat fee, charged only after you attend, and nothing at all on a no-show. It never varies with your treatment and never with what you spend in the chair — so we have nothing to gain from you being sold more.

Fit, distance and availability. Practices cannot pay for better placement, and there is no paid tier to buy.
Your reward is funded and issued by PaidSmile — never by your dentist. That separation is the point, and we put it in writing in our reward terms.

Is this actually free for me?
Yes, completely. You never pay PaidSmile anything at any point. Your treatment is billed by the practice exactly as it would be if you had walked in off the street — we don’t change what you’re charged.
Where does the $200 come from?
From us. PaidSmile funds and issues both rewards. Your dentist doesn’t pay it, doesn’t decide who gets it, and it has no bearing on your treatment or its price. That separation is deliberate and it’s written into our reward terms.
What if I don’t have insurance?
Book anyway. If you’re a Canadian resident with a family income under $90,000 and no access to private dental coverage, the federal CDCP may cover a large share of your visit. We’ll point you at the application before your appointment rather than leaving you to find it.
Do I have to create an account to look?
No. Enter the first three characters of your postal code and you’ll see which practices are open to new patients near you before we ask for anything.
Is my appointment confirmed the moment I book?
Not quite, and we won’t pretend otherwise. You pick the time that suits you and we send it straight to the practice — they call you to confirm it, and if that slot has gone they’ll sort out an alternative with you on the phone.
How are practices chosen?
A practice cannot appear on PaidSmile until it has signed our agreement and provided proof of professional liability insurance. That isn’t a promise — our system will not let a practice go live without both on file.
When exactly do I get paid?
Within 7 days of the practice confirming you attended and us receiving your receipt. You choose the card — Visa, Amazon, Walmart, Tim Hortons or President’s Choice.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Deal directly with the practice, exactly as you would normally. Rescheduling doesn’t affect your reward as long as you attend.
For Ontario practices
Empty chairs cost more than we do.
No subscription, no contract, no setup fee. You pay a flat fee when a new patient attends, and a smaller one if they come back for a second visit. Nothing at all if they don’t show.
Fees never vary with treatment value or what a patient spends in your chair, and they’re agreed with you in writing before a single patient is sent.
