Canadian Dental Care Plan

Dentists accepting CDCP in Brampton

3 Brampton practices on PaidSmile accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan and bill Sun Life directly — so you are not paying up front and claiming it back.

The CDCP covers a lot more than people expect — checkups, cleanings, X-rays, fillings and extractions are all in scope — but it only works if your dentist is willing to bill it. That is the part nobody publishes, and it is the reason this page exists.

What CDCP covers

The plan is built around keeping teeth healthy rather than fixing them once they break, so the routine work is the well-covered part:

  • Diagnostic — examinations and X-rays.
  • Preventive — cleaning, scaling, polishing, fluoride and sealants.
  • Restorative — fillings, and permanent restorations.
  • Endodontic and periodontic — root canals and gum treatment.
  • Removable prosthodontics — dentures, subject to preauthorisation.
  • Oral surgery — extractions.

More involved treatment usually needs to be approved in advance. Anything cosmetic is not covered at all.

What you might still pay

Two separate things can leave you with a bill, and it is worth keeping them apart in your head.

The first is the co-payment, which is set by your adjusted family net income. Under $70,000 the plan pays the full established fee for covered services. Between $70,000 and $79,999 you pay 40%. Between $80,000 and $89,999 you pay 60%. At $90,000 and above you are not eligible.

The second is the gap between the CDCP fee schedule and what your dentist charges. The plan reimburses at its own established rates, which are not always the provincial suggested fee. A practice can charge above them, and that difference is yours regardless of income. A good office will tell you the number before they start. Ask for it in writing.

Co-payment tiers and eligibility rules are set by policy and change. Confirm the current figures on canada.ca before you rely on them — it is the only authoritative source, and we would rather send you there than be the reason you budgeted wrong.

How to use your CDCP at the dentist

Why we pay you $175

Dental offices need new patients and normally buy them through advertising. PaidSmile is a marketing company, not a dental practice — partner offices pay us to find those patients, and we would rather spend that budget on you than on a billboard.

The part that matters: your dentist does not fund the reward, does not set it, and is not told what you receive. It is paid for turning up to your appointment, never for having treatment done, so it cannot change what your dentist recommends or what they charge. You pay for your treatment exactly as you would anywhere else — with CDCP covering its share — and we pay you for showing up. Full detail is in the reward terms.

Common questions

Which Brampton dentists take CDCP?

Every practice listed on this page accepts the Canadian Dental Care Plan and bills Sun Life directly, so you are not paying up front and waiting for reimbursement. Any dentist in Canada can choose to treat CDCP patients, so this list is not exhaustive — it is the practices we have confirmed and can book you into.

Do I have to pay anything at the appointment?

It depends on your household income and on whether the treatment is fully covered. CDCP pays the full established fee for covered services when your adjusted family net income is under $70,000. Above that there is a co-payment you pay yourself. Your dentist may also charge above the CDCP fee schedule, and that difference is yours to pay — ask for it in writing before treatment.

Am I eligible for CDCP?

Broadly: you are a Canadian resident for tax purposes, you filed last year's tax return, your adjusted family net income is under $90,000, and you do not have access to private dental insurance. Check the current rules and apply at canada.ca — it is the only authoritative source.

Does PaidSmile cost me anything?

No. Booking through PaidSmile is free and it never changes the price of your treatment. We are a marketing company, not a dental practice. Partner offices pay us to find new patients, and we pay you $75 after your first visit and $100 after your second for turning up.

Can I use CDCP and still get the PaidSmile reward?

Yes. The reward is paid by PaidSmile for attending your appointment, never by your dentist and never for having treatment done, so it sits alongside CDCP rather than interfering with it.
